Fitness For a Cause

I was recently introduced by a friend to a really neat app (available on both iPhone and Android) called Charity Miles. The premise of the app is to earn money for charity by running, biking or even walking.

When you run start the app, you pick the charity you want your mileage to benefit and then get moving.  You can run the app alongside other running apps, so you can still use Runkeeper, Nike+, Endomondo, etc… Ever mile you run earns money that Charity Miles will donate to your selected charity.

From the site:

It’s as easy as this: get moving. Bikers earn 10¢ a mile and walkers and runners earn 25¢ a mile, up to our initial $1,000,000 sponsorship pool.

Here are the charities you can choose to donate your miles to:

So if you ever get out there and walk, run or bike, don’t waste any more time! Download the app now and put what you are already doing to keep fit to good use and help a charity you care about.

And thank you Deb for always sharing your runs with us on Facebook so that we could learn about the app!!

We know that true fitness (with weight/fat loss) is only… Continue Reading

Try Kosama for $29!

If you’ve been following along on my blog, I talk about the gym I go to, Kosama, quite a bit. With varied workouts for strength, endurance and flexibility, it’s by far my favorite gym of all the gyms I’ve attended and I have a hard time picturing myself going back to a regular gym and… Continue Reading
