In an effort to start the fall season, and the last quarter of the year, off right, I am imposing a 30-day challenge on myself to make ALL my dinners at home for the next 30 days, starting today!
It’s ambitious, which is part of the reason why I am I am limiting it to dinner only. That’s not to say that I won’t make an effort to plan my lunches ahead of time or cook enough leftovers so that planning isn’t necessary, but the weekends aren’t as easy when it comes to being strict especially when there are activities to partake in, and I’m not the kind of person who works well without flexibility (nor is anyone else – healthy eating requires some flexibility!).
This challenge not-so-coincidentally coincides with the 2-month challenge we are doing at Kosama, which is already halfway over and I don’t have anything to show for it except too many meals eaten out and too many days missed at the gym. I want to win this challenge dammit!
You might also be asking, why 30 days when there are 31 days in October? I’m not a sadist – I’m taking Halloween off.
How do I participate?
Every night I will post a photo of that night’s dinner to my twitter feed via instagram with the hashtag #30daychallenge. I’ll also include a link to the recipe if I used one, and if it’s totally from scratch I’ll put the recipe up here on my blog, so you can try it too. This is also a great way to keep myself accountable – I expect to hear it from you if I miss a day or forget to post!
You can participate along with me by tweeting YOUR healthy home cooked dinner to me @thisfitgirljess and including the #30daychallenge hashtag. If I get at least 10 people following along, I’ll do a prize drawing at the end of the month! (something health-related… not sure what yet but I’ll announce it as soon as I figure it out!!)
So, what do you say?
